Oh deer me…
Back in April we went to Knole House, an English Country House, situated Nr Sevenoaks, in Kent. Knole House, is surrounded by a 1,000 acre deer park. Knole House is reputed to be a calendar house, which has 365 rooms, 52 staircases, 12 entrances and 7 courtyards.
As we strolled around the house, there was a vast amount of restoration work being carried out. The rooms that were restored were absolutely stunning and really gave you an insight into how the other half lived. 😀
Unfortunately you could only take photos in the open spaces and the courtyards but not in the main house, which was rather a shame as some of rooms would have been fantastic to photograph.
After our stroll around the house and a beverage in the nearby cafe, we decided to go deer hunting. As we drove into Knole House grounds we did see some deer in the woodland so we decided to head that way in our quest to find deer.
It was by pure luck, that I spotted something move out of the corner of my eye, and lo and behold it was a herd of deer. The little fellow pictured above just sat there, quite content and not at all bothered about one husband approaching in stealth mode to take his picture.
We did manage to capture some lovely pictures of the deer and again this would be a wonderful place to visit, should there be snow on the ground, just to see the deer.. it would be almost Christmas-like.
