Oh the bells…

Oh the bells…

I don’t know about others but we do tend to buy what we need during the year rather than wait for Christmas and put it on a list…  So as you can gather when Christmas time comes around we both find it hard to think of things to buy each other.

Well this year we decided to treat ourselves to a new lens… well what do we buy?

As we both, mainly me, like to take pictures of flowers and close-up things, we decided to buy ourselves a macro lens… now which one?

We looked around and decided as we both have Canon cameras to buy a Canon lens.  We went to Jessops and looked, but we walked out and was undecided.. Then we came home, looked on Amazon and opted for the Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 USM Macro Lens – non Image Stabilised, well what all that means went straight over my head but according to the reviews people were singing its praises. So we decided to buy that one.

WOW, the above picture has been taken using the macro lens on a Canon EOS1100D camera and I am really impressed with the picture quality and the sharpness of the images. The lens itself feels well built and sturdy.  I have been playing around with the lens and have found that it is great for portrait shots as well..  mind you the dogs didn’t sit long enough for me to get a proper shot, but what I did take, were excellent quality.

The picture below is one that has not been processed in any form and straight from the camera.

And as you can see, the sharpness of the dog’s nose the quality of the picture it takes.

Beautiful shots. I love my macro lens (100mm Canon) and you are in for a real treat with flowers and especially (at least for me) insects.

Thank you Mike, yes I am beginning to love it, and what I love about it is that it is also great for portraits. Hope you had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours. xx

I just love comments... Thanks for stopping by...
