Weymouth… trying something different
Back in the summer of 2011 we had our holiday down in Devon and Dorset.. we stayed at Charmouth in Dorset and did some trips into Devon.. However the above picture is of Weymouth beach, and I don’t know but the moment I arrived in Weymouth, I just had this urge and ambition to move there one day.
Most beaches during the summer are no dogs allowed.. but Weymouth has a part of the beach where you can take your dogs… Mind you I wouldn’t take mine at the moment because they would be liable to run into the area they are not supposed to be.
Anyway I liked this photo, even as the original with no Llightroom 4 processing done to it whatsoever… Whether it was because the beach seemed to engulf the buildings and make them look so small I don’t know.. but something about it caught my eye.
The only thing with the picture is that it was taken on a FujiFinepix S5700 camera and was taken in jpg format. Again something that you learn when you take up photography.. if your camera allows it… ALWAYS shoot in RAW. That way you can process the photo much better and you will have much more detail to work with.
Well last night I was watching a Youtube video from Serge Ramelli, whose blog I subscribe to. Well this video was about creating a different kind of Monochrome photo and instead of doing the adjustments globally doing them locally until you get the effect you want.
I wanted to draw your eye into the centre of the picture.. and by using this technique, I think I am starting to get the idea. Again Serge Ramelli, is another expert on Lightroom and a photographer who is willing to teach you all the tricks you need to know to enhance your photos. And I have now added Serge’s Youtube Channel to my list of Recommendations and I would advise any novice of Lightroom to go over to Serge’s channel and watch his excellent video tutorials. I really appreciate the tips he gives in them.. thank you Serge xx
