Reworking entrance to Bodiam
Well today, I decided to purchase the Google Nik Software.. and wow am I impressed. I am still on the learning curve stage and to be perfectly honest haven’t got the foggiest idea of what I am doing… But hey ho that is the fun of photography and computer software.. the learning.
Back in February, I posted this image: Entrance to Bodiam And decided that I would use this photograph as a re-work project. That way I could compare what I achieved then using Lightroom and what I can achieve using the Google Nik Software.
Anyway I purchased the software for $126.25, by using the voucher code HDRsoftware15; which is a fair price to pay for this software in my opinion.. and $126.25 is still better than having to pay the full price of $149.
And WOW am I impressed. I used the three auto-bracketed, shot at +2 Step, -2 Step and 0 Step and merged them using the HDR Efex Pro 2 and then I had a little play with the image in Silver Efex Pro 2. I liked the way you can control how Silver Efex Pro 2 works on certain parts of the image and I loved the way that HDR Efex Pro 2 gave you a good starting point for the HDR image and the variety of adjustments you can do..
As I said I am still learning but first impressions of this software is … well amazing. And I love the way it integrates easily with Lightroom 4 and Photoshop Elements 10.
