Dodging the showers
Today, well the weather wasn’t supposed to be that bad, so we decided to go back to one of our favourite places, Scotney Castle. Well the journey down there was just spits and spots of rain… nothing much but my god as soon as we arrived and started to walk to the entrance of Scotney, the rain decided to fall.
So into the house we went. I wanted to return to the house anway, because I wanted to reshoot the rooms and as it was raining it seemed the ideal time.. the only thing was, that everyone else had our idea and decided to enter into the house.. which meant a lot of patience, waiting for people to pass before photos were taking.
The above picture is the staircase that leads off of the main hall as you walk through the main door of Scotney House.
Within this giant hall wall is an open fireplace, and seating area plus a large wood table (pictured below)
Well as you can imagine the rain didn’t stop.. so we strolled around the house again and more pictures were taken which I after processing will be posted in future blog posts, hopefully. So we decided that we couldn’t walk around the house any more so we wandered back through the visitor entrance to the cafe, where we would have a coffee.
Naturally everyone was doing the same, and the to be perfectly honest, it took ages to get a drink and find a table but as the rain was still falling we were in no hurry. After about half an hour the rain decided to stop, we went back and viewed the gardens.. The sky was black as the ace of spades and it was obvious that it was going to rain again, so we just walked around the quarry garden and then decided as it started to spit with rain again, to make our way home.
