Time and time again, day after day Hubby has driven by the signs that lead the way to Danson House.. normally the only thing he recalls about Danson is the interchange because there are always traffic hold ups there.
Well today we decided to go and visit.. and what a lovely place it is.. There are formal gardens, and a wonderful park where you can walk your dogs and a boating lake at the bottom of the main park.
Unfortunately for me.. my PMR has been playing havoc for the last month or so and I have hardly been able to move, yet alone walk.. but with benches galore I was able to slowly walk around this glorious house..
This following picture is of the spiral staircase that runs from top to bottom of this house…
And here is a picture of one of the rooms that we visited…
The opulence of the rooms was breathtaking.. and it is a wonderful house to visit. And a real bargain too.. As we are National Trust members we were entitled to a 50% discount, and if we agreed to do Gift Aid, at no extra cost,, we were given tickets to enter the House, free of charge, as many times as we like during the next 12 months.
I can imagine how spectacular the scenery would be in winter.. especially if snow has fallen.. and as it is not that far from the main A2, I suspect the roads would be clear.. so this place is on my list of places to visit when snow has fallen.
