As we strolled around the wooded area of Doddington Place gardens, near Sittingbourne Kent on Sunday I couldn’t believe that this rose was in full bloom. The black and white version of this photo can be viewed on our Monochrome Magic blog

what a beauty! Looks nearly like a camelia. Seems to be very rare this kind of rose. Have never seen it.

You are correct, it is called a Camelia ‘April Rose’…. the leaves of it looked exactly like rose leaves, that is why I thought it was an early blooming rose…
