Saturday evening just around tea-time I had this mad inclination to go out and do some photography. Well I have been penned in for so long, every chance I get I want to go. I think him indoors is hoping this urge to keep going out and about dies down a bit.. he seems a little cream-crackered (Knackered) at the moment trying to keep up with me.
Anyway our little trip took us to Rochester Castle Gardens, and it was beautiful because it was practically empty except for a couple of dog walkers. And those people that did walk through the Castle Gardens didn’t hinder our views or photography at all.
The photograph is of Rochester Cathedral Spires taken from the Castle Gardens. It was a four shot HDR processed in Lightroom. The image was composited originally was five shots. Unfortunately, as the image was hand-held one of those images was blurred so I didn’t use it for the HDR. But Lightroom coped well with just using the four images taken at different exposures.
Powder paint effect
Of course I couldn’t resist doing a Powder Paint version of this image. But I have to say in all honestly, I prefer the original photograph without the Powder Paint Effect. Which is unusual for me. On another note I have been busy with our Facebook Page and have posted some of our images my Google + Personal Profile.
Then it dawned on me, we do have a Page on Google+ and in hindsight perhaps I should add more images to our page instead of my personal profile. But that can easily be rectified by spending a couple of hours one afternoon, posting our images into collections within our Page.
Lately, for me, Instagram has been the way forward. And I am finding that my time is better spent on Social Networks than by posting blog posts. I do like blogging, don’t get me wrong, but trying to think of things to say is sometimes difficult. And when you just want to show images perhaps Facebook, Instagram and Google+ are the platforms to use.
