Here I am in February and playing catch-up yet again. Anyway apologies for the long absence in posting but here is my take on the WordPress Photo Challenge for January 24th 2018 called Variation of a Theme.
Below is the original image I used after a few tweaks in Lightroom.
Using a program from Skylum – who were previously known as MacPhun – called Luminar 2018 I processed the image even further.. I just absolutely love this software and the new update is even better because you can merge layers.
I am still not fully conversant to the full capabilities of Luminar but so far what I am learning is really making me love this software… And to be perfectly honest if it came with a photo management system like Lightroom, I think it would be my go to software when processing images, instead of using Lightroom as my first port of call.
What I liked was how Luminar enhanced the clouds but I wanted to vary this photograph even further. So when I exported it back into Lightroom, I then added a Preset I created to the image and played around with the various elements used in that Preset.. primarily the Radial Filter and the Effects as well as varying the properties of the split toning which was used.
I am beginning to really like this style of processing.. and I love this Preset. And I am finding that I am using a lot for my images. Perhaps, this is the style that I have been working towards. Every photographer, whether they are professional or amateur, has their own style of editing… and this is becoming more my style.
