Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge – Close Ups

This week Cee has asked for submissions to her black and white photo challenge to have a close-ups of various items.  With the object of the exercise to show detail in the subjects….  For my entries to this challenge I am including these photographs.  Out of  all these photographs I am submitting… yes the doggie ones are my favourite. 😀 😀

Thanks to Cee for hosting this challenge. xx

Lately these two little perishers have been playing silly games when it has come to have their photographs taken.  Especially if I ask them to sit nicely and pose… no way.  But the trick to this photograph was by holding a camera and a Bonio in my mouth.  As you can see their eyes are glued to the Bonio and no  they don’t taste nice.

Whose nose…

Whose nose…

I was playing with my new lens when it first arrived and just couldn’t resist this shot.  Which dog this nose belongs to, I don’t have a clue… to be honest.  I was so busy clicking away that I wasn’t paying too much attention to which dog I was photographing. 😀 😀

Here’s looking at you sis…

Here’s looking at you sis…

As many of you know, who read this blog, I have two Golden Retrievers, named Stewie and Dumpling.  Now trying to get these dogs to pose for a nice photograph together is a virtual impossibility.  I can normally get loving photos of each of them separately, but together… no luck.

Going through my collection, I had these two photographs

Which I love. But what could I do to get them to go together and blend together in Photoshop.  This was going to be something new for me to try… so this is my first attempt at doing something like this…  I loved the picture of Stewie but decided to flip it so he was looking the other way…

Then on a plain black background, I copied the image over… then I just used the same technique for putting the picture of Dumpling on there.

After a few minor adjustments I ended up with this image..

As much as I liked it…. I wanted to add a texture.. which gave me the final result..

I then decided to play around with actions and colour-lookup… which then gave me this result… when I am pleased with.

That's licking good

That's licking good

There I was the other night have a little munch whilst watching a film and guess who turned up… yes none other than Stewie… Now that dog will maul you for a dry roasted peanut… and that is exactly what I was eating at the time.
