Saturday was the first time in ages that I have been out and our little trip took us to Hall Place. Anyway as we were leaving we saw a sign for Jambs Owls and decided to pay a visit. Believe it or not the above photograph of this owl straight out of the camera was bland and boring even after cropping. Continue reading →
Saturday was so lovely being able to walk without excruciating pain and being able to visit places and above all being able to hold my camera and take photographs. The flowers in the greenhouse of Hall Place in Bexley are exquisite to photograph. Hubby took the above photograph of this beautiful orange and purple flower. I couldn’t believe how large the blooms were. Continue reading →
I am a leaf on this dear tree,
Hanging on, not wanting to be free,
Remembering days when I was just a bud,
Praying I don't fall in the mud.
Looking back over previous photo challenges that WordPress curates and I found one called Path. A path comes in many shapes and forms, like the image above. Which is of a wooden bridge. A path is made by using different materials that enable a person to walk across an area with ease. It could be concrete, decking, timber planks, paving slabs or even shingle. A path will lead you from one place to another. Continue reading →
Another week and another photography challenge from the WordPress Team. And the topic for this week’s challenge is called Wish. And boy am I wishing for spring and summer to arrive early. Last year for me was to put it bluntly horrendous. What with not being able to go out and about. Continue reading →
For just under £10 a month, I subscribe to the Creative Cloud and Lightroom Photography Package and personally for me, it suits my needs as I get both Lightroom and Photoshop. However Lightroom Mobile is another thing. I do wish Adobe would give Android users the same features that are available to iPad and iPhone users. Android users can’t do local adjustments which is rather annoying. I keep moaning and I keep being told it is in the pipeline. But all I can say it must be a friggin big pipeline. 😀 😀
However, I do get to use some of the Apps available as well as Lightroom Mobile and one App I am using quite regular is Photoshop Mix. By using images from Lightroom Mobile and combining them in Photoshop Mix I can create artwork in layers. There are adjustments you can do and blending modes in Photoshop Mix as well as in Lightroom. It was so lovely to get out last Monday, even though I didn’t walk far. However, I did send him off on an expedition down the locks at Allington, near Maidstone in Kent. The landscape was barren and the trees were still bare but you could see the start of spring slowly appearing in the landscaped area. Continue reading →
Whey hey, I am home from hospital. My right hip has been replaced and I can now walk without that excruciating pain. Taking it careful for the next 6 weeks to stop any chance of dislocation I am finding hard. However, I am so glad that awful pain has finally gone. I was only in hospital for 3 nights. And by Monday I felt good enough to have a little stroll along the banks of the River Medway at Allington Locks, near Maidstone in Kent. Continue reading →
To create the above photograph, I started out in Lightroom. To the dahlia I cropped the image and then did a few minor edits to the image. Over-processing the image at this point was one thing I didn’t want to do, as I knew I would be giving it an Oil Paint Effect in Photoshop. Continue reading →
Another place we like to visit is Russell Gardens near Kearsney Abbey Gardens, Dover, Kent… It is about a 40 min drive for us, so within easy access via the M20 Motorway. Apart from there being a lake at Kearsney Abbey just across the road from Kearsney Abbey Gardens.. there is a lovely stream at Russell Gardens.. and a huge lake.
