Shorne Country Park

Falling leaves but I’m still hanging on

Falling leaves but I’m still hanging on

As the winter of 2016 descended on us.. a bare leaf hanging on a branch

I am a leaf on this dear tree,
Hanging on, not wanting to be free,
Remembering days when I was just a bud,
Praying I don't fall in the mud.

A Stroll at Shorne

A Stroll at Shorne

Storm Imogen arrived and as there was no work for the other half today we decided to try and have a stroll at Shorne… recently I have been having great problems walking… so with my Actipatch activated and god knows how many pain killers down my throat… off we set.  Shorne Country Park is just up the road from us… and even though it was a short stroll, and I needed hell of a lot of rest afterwards.  It was nice to get out.

It’s snowing…

It’s snowing…

Well not really… Just fake snow added to a photograph to be honest… Today I was looking back at some snow photographs we took at Shorne Country Park, Near Gravesend in Kent back in 2012.  And I liked this particular photograph

And even though I liked the photograph and how the path meandered into the distance and behind the trees, to me it was still lacking something.

So I thought about adding some snow to the photograph.  To do this I used a free texture from FlorabellaCollection.com.  I used the same process as normal… added the snow texture as a new layer … only this time I used the SCREEN mode blending option and lowered the opacity slightly.  I also added a layer mask so that some of the new snow blended softly into the vivid white snow of the path.

Here is my final picture

I hope you like it…
