Friday Quick Tip – Lightroom – Crop Tool

Well today’s tip isn’t a 60 second one but about 8.50 minutes, but the bit that I found interesting was within the first 30 seconds.. about leaving space when taking photograhs in order to get a more pleasing crop in Lightroom.  Laura talks about the Crop Tool in Lightroom as well as no-no’s about horizons.

I am one for zooming in on my subject… which doesn’t leave me much room to crop.  So something I must do from now on is provide enough space in my images for me to crop for a more pleasing composition.

So what you learn from this video

  • Leaving space around subject
  • Horizons should not be central on an image
  • Crop image before editing to get correct composition
  • Crop tool overlays in Lightroom.

Thank you Laura and you can view more of Laura’s Images on her website. xx
