On our last full day in North Yorkshire, before heading home the following morning, I put my foot down and said… those famous girlie words ‘Retail Therapy’. Oh, the look of disgust that I had mentioned those words was clearly shown across his face.
You know the look… no matter how hard you try to smile and agree your face tells you the truth. Well, we came to a compromise, Harrogate shopping first and then onto Brimham Rocks.
As I strolled around Debenhams, Primark and other shops, all I could hear in my ears were ‘Brimham Rocks’, ‘Brimham Rocks’, ‘Brimham Rocks’. Do I dare to say more.. well if it wasn’t, ‘Will you still be able to walk around ‘Brimham Rocks’?’ it was ‘What time do you think we’ll go to ‘Brimham Rocks’?
Finally, I said to him, cos I did have a few more shops lined up.. ‘Let’s go.’ Anything to stop him on about ‘Brimham Rocks’. 😀 😀 😀 😀
Before you knew it we were heading towards Brimham Rocks… and when we arrived, we got out of the car and all you could see and hear was hundreds of children, running around screaming, shouting, jumping and falling from rocks.
Now for us on a Warners no-kids holiday break.. the sound was too much for him. I just ignored the din and let the kids do their thing. But him.. he couldn’t handle it. We took a quick walk around and I do have to admit it was so hard to try and get photographs of the rocks without people in the shot, or kids jumping from one rock to another. When all of a sudden he looked at me and said, ‘God I can’t handle all these kids running around.’
My face spoke those thousands of words as I smiled and said under my breath.. ‘Karma is a bitch and I love her.’ It’ll teach him to butt in and hassle me on my retail therapy morning. 😀 😀 😀 😀
