A photo a week challenge – The fruits of your labour

A photograph of Fountains Abbey in North Yorkshire owned and maintained by the National Trust.

We are both members of the National Trust, and we love to travel around and see the many stately homes, gardens and ruins the National Trust has to offer.   On our recent trip to North Yorkshire, we visited Fountains Abbey, photographed above.

Anyway the challenge for this week’s A photo a week, hosted by Nancy Merrill, is called ‘The Fruits of your Labour‘.  English Heritage and National Trust rely solely on volunteers to keep act as guides around their properties.  Volunteeers who are full of knowledge and it is the fruits of their labour that enables the likes of us, to go and visit these wonderful treasures of our heritage.

Many thanks goes out to Nancy for hosting this challenge.
