Sometimes, for the life of me, I can’t find inspiration or an image to post.  So I just shut-down the computer and hope my inspiration returns pretty quick.

Well, that is no good, if you lack inspiration for a while.  Days and even weeks can pass before you finally get inspired.  By that time, your readers and fellow bloggers visits and comments drop right off.  And it is basically like starting all over again when you start processing and blogging again.

A way to keep your inspiration going… is to enter photo challenges.  And if you like creative writing, you can still join in, with many of the challenges.  You don’t have to be a photographer to join in.

WordPress themselves did a daily writing prompt and weekly photography challenge which I used to join in.  Like all good things that come to an end, WordPress took it upon themselves to no longer host these challenges.  Which left many people lost and missing the challenges.

And I have found photography challenges very inspiring and you don’t have to find your subject for blogging or writing your post.

Somewhere in your archive of images, lies an image that is suitable for that challenge.  Taking part in Challenges, not only keeps you inspired, but it also brings other bloggers and followers to your blog.  As well as you getting to discover other blogs and even challenges.

So for those photographers and bloggers who want to join in the challenges, I have created a PDF of some of the Challenges, I enter, which you can download below.

I hope this helps you keep your inspiration.  And of course, you can add to that list.  I hope it helps you find some challenges to partake in.

On another note… I am going to start reblogging an image from another blog every day, so that my readers, hopefully, find other blogs to follow.  If you want a reblog.. then contact me via my contact page.

Now I will leave you with some of the images I have posted to various challenges.

  1. I’m not into challenges, but I do know exactly what you mean about lacking inspiration – my only advice here is not to try and force it. If I’m at the computer trying to make images and they just don’t come and/or I’m feeling tired/washed out, I just walk away and let events take their course. Its not easy, but its best to try not to get worried or tense in these situations, but just to try and let Life/photography takes its course >>> go with the flow!!!!!! A 🙂

    1. Good, sound, advice Adrian… I do find though that I tend to go onto something else and get engrossed in that.. which makes me neglect my photography. What I do love about challenges, is that it pushes the boundaries. They take you out of your comfort zone. It is all too easy to stay nestled in your little comfort zone and not venture. And that is why I love challenges.
