October Photo Challenge – Scarlet

For City Sonnet’s Scarlett October Photography Challenge I reworked a rose photograph that I entered in Flower of the Day back in September.  Scarlet is a vibrant colour and it adds warmth and depth to an image.

When I think of scarlet one of the images that did haunt my mind was the image of the little girl in the red coat.  I can remember watching Schindler’s List made in Black and White and can never forget that little girl who walked the streets in her scarlet coat when death and destruction were reigning all around her.  Her fate under Nazi rule was grim..

Scarlet can be bright and beautiful but it can also be dark and demonized.

October Photography Challenge.
