A Photo a Week: On the Horizon

Cliftonville Bay
This image was taken at Cliftonville Bay and given a Chalk Smudge Effect in Topaz Studio.

For Nancy Merrill’s A Photo A Week Photography Challenge, I decided to use an image I photographed whilst at Cliftonville Bay in Kent.  I wanted to do something different with this image… I knew I wanted a paint-effect but was unsure of what type of effect I was trying to achieve.

So I used Topaz Studio and modified a Preset called ‘Chalk Smudge III‘.  Initially, I started out in Lightroom and then Edited in Topaz Studio, when happy when the paint-effect I then returned to Lightroom, where I added some dodge and burn.  And then added a Colour Preset to the image called ‘Bright‘.  Then I added a Vignette.
