Memory

Debbie Smyth who hosts Travel with Intent Blog curates a one-word Sunday Challenge and this week her topic is called Memory. For my memory choice, it has to be our 15-day tour of the North-West Coast of America.   Departing from Heathrow early afternoon, we flew over the snowcaps of Greenland.

Our first port of call was San Francisco.  And nobody can visit San Francisco without visiting Alcatraz.  Walking through those cells, and the shower block made me feel cold inside.  It is inconceivable of how prisoners were sent there and the conditions they lived in.

After visiting Alcatraz during our free-day we had to visit the Palace of Fine Arts.

After leaving San Franciso we headed for Yosemite National Park and en-route, we stopped at El Portal to view the old Yosemite Rail train.

For my final image of this magical holiday, it has to be a photograph of The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.

I can’t believe it was 4 years ago.  And if I had the chance again I would do it all over again, especially San Francisco and Yosemite.
